Richard Newsham - Senior Consultant, EIA

A graduate of the University of Chester and a PRINCE2 practitioner, Richard brings over 6 years’ experience in a project management role with a renewable energy developer, preparing Environmental Impact Assessments from small scale community led projects, to large scale Section 36 Onshore Wind Farms.

His expertise includes feasibility studies, preparing scoping reports, writing and coordinating environmental impact assessment reports, and managing stakeholder relationships. To date, Richard has assisted the EIA and planning application preparation for over 1GW of renewable energy projects including wind and solar farms.

Richard also has experience in developing Social Value outcomes on projects and has trialled the use of a social value calculator to incorporate a Social Return of Investment (SROI) methodology of measuring performance of community led projects. The trial was able to provide a ratio for every £1 spent of the project to how much Social Value was generated in a monitory form. A tool that is easy to use and easily comparable/applicable to a range of community projects.
