Senior Consultant Ecologist - based in Edinburgh
The Position:
Working as part of the Ecology team, the successful candidate will be:
- Able to act as a source of reliable expertise on specific technical areas (should mentor/train others on these areas);
- Confident with legislation, able to apply to projects and negotiate subtleties with third parties;
- Confident in dealing with interface between ecology and development planning, including pro-active appreciation of potential for synergies/conflicts with other disciplines;
- Able to handle day-to-day responsibility for larger projects and maintaining files (supported by Consultant/Ecologist grades);
- Atmos Project Manager for med – large projects, including those outside their technical specialist area. Increasingly responsible for directing their own projects, but supported by Principal Consultant/Technical Director;
- Actively involved in co-ordinating and contributing to tenders, and preparation of marketing materials as/when required;
- Responsible for resourcing projects and the line management of a small number of Consultant/Ecologist grade staff.
About the Person:
The successful candidate will be an experienced consultant with a background in non-avian ecology.
